Call Recording

How long are recordings stored?
Unlike many hosted phone providers that limit retention to 60-90 days, Hansen allows multi-year recording storage depending on your deployment and storage configuration.
Are recordings secure?
Yes. All recordings are encrypted for secure storage and controlled access. User permissions determine who can access or share recordings.
How do we find a specific recording?
Recordings are searchable by date, caller ID, number dialed, extension, call type, duration, and custom fields. Every recording is tied directly to its call data record.

Deployment

What is the difference between Hosted and On-Prem?
Hosted is cloud-based with no local server required and unlimited support included for the lifetime of your subscription. On-Prem is installed on your server with 1 year of unlimited support and optional support plans after year one. Both options include full reporting and recording functionality.

What does Hansen Software actually do?
Hansen Software provides advanced call reporting, call recording, and transcription solutions for business phone systems. We take complex CDR/SMDR call data and turn it into structured, searchable, decision-ready intelligence.
What types of phone systems do you support?
If your system outputs CDR (Call Data Records) or SMDR data, we can integrate with it. We support modern VoIP systems, hosted platforms, and many legacy PBX environments. For older systems that lack built-in recording, we also provide specialized recording hardware solutions.
Do we need to replace our phone system?
No. Our platform is designed to integrate with your existing infrastructure. There is no rip-and-replace requirement.

Do you integrate with CRMs?

What kind of reports can we generate?
You can generate reports for incoming and outgoing calls, missed and abandoned calls, extensions and departments, ring groups and hunt groups, call duration and performance trends, and custom business metrics. Reports can be scheduled and automatically emailed daily, weekly, or monthly.
Can reports be customized?
Yes. We specialize in building custom reports tailored to your business structure and operational goals.

What is included in Software Assurance?
Software Assurance includes installation, unlimited training, unlimited technical support, 24/7 emergency support, and semi-annual updates. Hosted clients receive ongoing coverage. On-Prem clients receive one year included with optional renewal.

Hansen Transcription is an add-on feature that converts call recordings into searchable text with one click.
Why would we need transcription?
Transcription allows you to search conversations by keyword, quickly locate important call segments, improve training and accountability, document agreements, and analyze customer interactions. It turns conversations into measurable data.
